The Backyard of Newfoundland

In my efforts to find more artist events this year, I came across a Call for Artists project where the city is looking for artists' submissions, the winners being featured their works in the downtown pedestrian street mall around light poles! This is my submission, each piece per side of the pole box.

I was immediately driven by the idea that I could capture my favourite things about NL so far, and with only having one weekend to meet the deadline this is what I came up with! created with the intent to capture the many moods of Newfoundland that always have their time to shine right from my backyard. The architecture, the atmosphere, the teeming wildlife, and of course the jellybean homes are so charming it doesn't matter whether it's raining or shining to enjoy this big Rock and all its splendor.

and I got chosen! This artwork will be featured on 2 of the 36 light poles downtown, and I am so honoured and excited to be a part of my new community in such a cool way!
